NEW ORLEANS GRAND PRIX

🏁 New Orleans Grand Prix – Race Recap

📍 New Orleans, LA
📅 2026 Race #2
🏁 Class: Pro Class 1
🔢 Finish: 2nd Place

After nine straight days of nonstop work on the boat, Outta Pocket Racing rolled into New Orleans Thursday morning, getting straight to work setting up and preparing for race weekend.

Friday started with testing ahead of the first round of qualifying but it didn’t come easy. During the morning session, the boat sheared a prop and damaged the end of the prop shaft, forcing the team to pull it out of the water immediately. With a tight window and a lot on the line, the crew got to work replacing major components and getting everything back together.

Against the clock, they made it happen, getting the boat back in the water and ready for qualifying at 2:00 PM. The effort paid off, with a solid performance that put the team in a good position heading into race day.

Saturday marked the first of two races for the weekend. The boat ran strong, and the team stayed consistent, finishing 5th place and gathering valuable data to build on.

Sunday was for all the marbles. With what they learned from the day before, Kevin and Billy went out dialed in and ready. When it counted, they delivered, bringing the boat home in 2nd place, securing 2nd overall for the weekend.

From major setbacks to a podium finish, it was a weekend that showed exactly what this team is made of.

Outta Pocket Racing continues to build momentum as the season rolls on.
